The central unit for child and student health supports the municipality's preschools and primary schools and includes social workers, school nurses, and psychologists. The unit's development work has a clear focus on health-promoting and preventive child and student health work, and we strive for interprofessional collaboration in the teams.

As the preschool psychologist of the unit, you are part of all the child health teams in the municipality, which are led by the principal, but you have your closest manager in the central organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will include contributing psychological expertise to child health work in various ways. Together with the principal and special educator, you will participate in the overall planning of child health work, e.g., in child health teams. You will primarily work with promoting and preventive measures at the group and organizational level, but also work on an individual level when necessary. At the request of the principal, you will offer consultation, supervision, and professional development to staff as well as, if needed, crisis support to principals and work teams. You will be involved in collaboration around children in need of extensive support measures and, together with the special educator, be responsible for coordinating support during the transition from preschool to primary school.

In the combined child and student health services, the focus is, among other things, on strengthening equity and legal certainty in the processes of child and student health as well as in the contribution of child and student health to the systematic quality work of preschools and schools. As part of the role, you will also work under the leadership of the head of preschool and the unit manager for child and student health with strategic issues related to the development of child health work. Furthermore, it includes collaborating with social services, health care, and, if necessary, other actors to promote good school social work and early coordinated interventions (TSI) for children of preschool age.

You will be part of a group of seven psychologists where the atmosphere is high and collegial learning is constantly in focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatory requirements:

• We are looking for someone with a degree in psychology
• Experience working with preschool-aged children
• Structured and accustomed to working independently
• Flexible approach and good ability to collaborate with many different actors
• Experience in training and supervising. A strong interest in children's and students' learning.
• Ability to collaborate with all preschool and school staff. Enjoy working transprofessionally.
• Drive to initiate, implement, and institutionalize processes that promote children's learning, health, and development.
• Competence to work with interventions at the organizational, group, and individual levels.

Desirable:

• Experience working with preschool-aged children
• Supervise staff working in preschool activities
