About the organization

Pharmaceutical Care is now looking for two department pharmacists for assignments within Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Queen Silvia's Children's Hospital.

Pharmaceutical Care is the unit belonging to the Medication Operations where pharmacists and pharmacy technicians work in various healthcare operations. In the Medication Operations, there are also Clinical Pharmacology, Medication Supply, Inpatient Dosage, and Extemporaneous Preparation.

The organization has both internal and regional assignments.

What do we offer?

Our goal is to provide a stimulating and developing job where you as a pharmacy technician or pharmacist work as part of the team in the healthcare operation you are placed in. You will have the opportunity to contribute your pharmaceutical expertise both in practical tasks and as knowledge support.

As a newcomer in Pharmaceutical Care, you will shadow experienced colleagues to learn different parts of the work and the healthcare operation you will be placed in. Pharmaceutical Care continuously works to offer professional development based on the unit's needs and the employees' personal goals.

In general, working in Pharmaceutical Care may involve weekend shifts and also work in other departments or clinics within Sahlgrenska University Hospital where Pharmaceutical Care is located.

Job responsibilities

The main job responsibilities include performing practical tasks such as preparing medications, both oral and parenteral, ordering and managing medication rooms, as well as acting as direct knowledge support for nurses and doctors. Conducting quality work for safe medication management is an ongoing responsibility for Pharmaceutical Care.

As a department pharmacist, you support other healthcare personnel in quality work at the care unit, among other things, by:

• Preparing oral and parenteral medication doses.
• Ordering medications and managing the medication room.
• Introducing new nurses to medication management and preparation.
• Providing knowledge support in questions regarding medications and medication management.
• Quality work for safe medication management.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed pharmacy technician, preferably with extemporaneous preparation authorization, or you are a licensed pharmacist. It is advantageous if you have good knowledge and preferably experience in preparing parenteral medications. You also have at least two years of professional experience and good knowledge of Swedish.

As a person, it is important that you are flexible, have an easy time making new contacts and good relationships. You should be able to take initiative, be receptive, and prioritize tasks according to the needs of the healthcare operation. You have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
