ABOUT THE POSITION

As a High Voltage System Engineer, you will work on developing and coordinating high voltage systems in their electric vehicles; a key role in ensuring that their vehicles meet world-leading standards in safety and performance. You will be responsible for defining and specifying key components such as batteries, chargers, and electric machines, ensuring they work optimally together with the system. A central part of your work will be managing EMC issues, analyzing their impact on the various parts of the system to prevent disturbances and ensure high operational reliability.

The role involves responsibility for developing specifications and technical guidelines that ensure all high voltage components comply with legal requirements and internal safety standards. You will also participate in the evaluation and verification of new concepts for upcoming platforms, focusing on increasing voltage requirements and power performance.

Since high voltage systems affect several parts of the electric vehicle, you will closely collaborate with other departments, including software development and system architecture. This means you will contribute to software requirements related to degradation and safety features while coordinating solutions with colleagues working on mechanical design and electrical systems. Your role is therefore crucial in ensuring a holistic solution where all technical and regulatory aspects are in balance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job tasks

• System design and specification: Develop and update requirements for high voltage components such as batteries and chargers
• EMC issues: Analyze voltage ripple and its impact at the component level and ensure compliance with EMC standards
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other teams to coordinate the development of future platforms with higher voltage requirements

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a completed post-secondary education in electrical engineering or power engineering
• Has previous work experience in the design of power systems
• Has worked in a similar role previously, giving you experience in power electronics and electric machines
• Is fluent in English as this language is used in daily work

It is meritorious if you have experience from the automotive industry. Knowledge can be obtained through education, experience, or self-learning.
