Here, you have the opportunity to work in a dedicated and close-knit team. You will belong to the Aircraft Workshop, where we are 80 employees divided into 4 sections. Together, we perform technical maintenance on the JAS39 and all its associated equipment.

About the Unit

The Aircraft Maintenance Unit is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of our Gripen aircraft as well as all maintenance equipment related to the aircraft.

The unit also handles daily flight operations, including preparation and readiness. Our work is primarily focused on national missions, but international assignments may also occur.

The Aircraft Maintenance Unit consists of a unit management, the 11th and 12th Aircraft Maintenance Companies, the aircraft workshop, and Availability Group 94.

Main Responsibilities

You will belong to the aircraft workshop and be part of carrying out heavy maintenance on the JAS 39 aircraft, including preventive maintenance, modifications, and repairs in modern workshop facilities.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Aviation Technician Certificate B1, EMAR (military) or EASA (civil)
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Approved thermosetting plastic examination (conducted in connection with employment)
• Driving license class B manual transmission

DESIRABLE

• Aviation Technician Certificate B2, EMAR (military) or EASA (civil)
• Type course JAS 39 C/D
• Experience in heavy aircraft maintenance
• Completed military service or Basic Military Training in Sweden

Skaraborg Air Force Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here, there is combat aviation as well as the Armed Forces' collective resource of transport and special aviation. We conduct basic and position training for conscripted recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, operations are based in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for Swedish personnel in the international transport aviation cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
