Do you want to strengthen the ability of state employers to conduct efficient and well-functioning operations? We are now looking for an employment law lawyer – is that you?

The Employer's Agency (Arbetsgivarverket) is an employer organization for the state contractual area and one of the government's agencies. Members include approximately 250 agencies, commercial enterprises, and other employers connected to the state sector. Together with its members, the Employer's Agency develops and coordinates state employer policy and concludes collective agreements covering approximately 307,000 employees.

Our members have an increasing number of employees working in an international context within the EU and NATO.

About the Unit

As an employment law lawyer, you will work at the Legal and Working Life Unit together with six other employment law lawyers, two social insurance experts, and one occupational health and safety expert. The unit is responsible, among other things, for employment law disputes in and out of court, and is led by the Chief Legal Counsel.

Your Responsibilities

As an employment law lawyer at the Employer's Agency, you will collaborate closely with our advisors and negotiators. You will work together with the social insurance experts in their work. You will support and provide ongoing advice to our members regarding the application and interpretation of both legislation and central collective agreements. Your duties include conducting training and leading central dispute negotiations. You may also represent the state in employment law court proceedings. Furthermore, you will produce and update written information and educational materials in response to changes in laws and central collective agreements. The role of employment law lawyer offers you great opportunities to plan your work under your own responsibility while working in close collaboration and contact with the Employer's Agency's members, colleagues, and central party representatives.

Your Qualifications and Personal Attributes

We require that you have:

  • a law degree
  • in-depth knowledge of employment law regulations
  • several years of work experience in the field of employment law, with a focus on rehabilitation, discrimination, and parental leave
  • good knowledge of social insurance, particularly sickness and parental insurance
  • several years of experience in legally qualified work within the social insurance sector
  • a few years of experience presenting cases in court in employment law matters
  • good knowledge of cross-border social insurance issues in an international context, with an emphasis on EU Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems
  • very good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience representing employers.

As a person, you are interested in how events in the outside world affect employer policy issues and the Swedish party model. The work requires that you can work both independently and together with others. You are unpretentious and can assume different roles depending on the task and group. You consider it natural to contribute collegially to the unit's shared competence. Furthermore, you are development-oriented and solution-focused, and have an easy time building professional relationships. Personal suitability will carry significant weight in the decision regarding employment.

Tests may be included in the recruitment process.
