Do you want to strengthen the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's work with outdoor life and thereby contribute to fulfilling the national outdoor life goals? The Outdoor Life Unit is looking for a case officer who, together with other employees, wants to develop the work with coastal protection and the digitalization of information about outdoor life. An important part of the role is to coordinate the unit's ongoing work with making digital information about outdoor life accessible and specific in collaboration with other authorities and actors. The work also includes advising authorities in their work with the examination and supervision of coastal protection. This year we are launching the work with the national supervision strategy and are therefore in need of reinforcement.

The Outdoor Life Unit within the Planning, Examination and Supervision Department consists of 10 employees who work with coordinating the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency's work with outdoor life issues, guidance on the right of public access, off-road driving and coastal protection, coordination of the Mountain Safety Council and the National Snowmobile Council, avalanche forecasts, and coordination and grant management for state and non-state trails both within and outside protected nature.

Your responsibilities

As a case officer in the Outdoor Life Unit, you will coordinate outdoor life issues and support other authorities and organizations in their work. It is also important to have a well-functioning internal collaboration with other departments and units at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.

Within coastal protection, we are developing new supervision guidelines and planning for a national supervision campaign in 2027. The work involves writing texts for the web, creating campaign material, and working with reference groups. Ongoing guidance on the examination and supervision of coastal protection may also be relevant. Within the digitalization of outdoor life, we need to structure our own information and open data, as well as collaborate with and guide others so that they are given the opportunity to share their data in a unified structure. This could, for example, involve data sets within visitor management, hiking trails, and follow-up and measures to achieve outdoor life goals.

Your qualifications

Requirements:

• University/college education with a relevant focus, e.g., urban planning, outdoor life, or natural sciences.
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
• At least 3 years of experience working with coastal protection, digitalization, or outdoor life issues.

Merits:

• Work at a County Administrative Board or another authority.
• Knowledge of coastal protection legislation.
• Experience from large collaboration projects.
• Experience leading digital development projects.
• Good habit of independently driving and coordinating tasks.

About the employment

The employment is a fixed-term full-time position for 6 months with some possibility of extension. The placement is in Stockholm or Östersund. For this position, there may be good opportunities for remote work. Travel may occur in the position. Start date as soon as possible according to agreement. We apply individual salary setting.
