Katarina Södra School is a F-6 school with about 550 students located at Nytorget in Södermalm, about a 10-minute walk from Skanstull subway station.

We are a school with high expectations for both students and staff, and we have good academic results. For several years, we have been working on assessment for learning, values, and inclusive learning environments. This work aims to create conditions for all students, based on age and maturity, to take increased responsibility for their studies and thereby develop optimally, both socially and academically. We see the entire school as a learning organization where joint training, workshops, and collegial learning are important parts. At the top of the school, we have a school library that, together with the facilities for practical and aesthetic subjects, forms a cultural floor. We are also proud of our school cafeteria, where we serve nutritious organic food. Our beautiful schoolyard inspires a lot of play. Our school is the oldest of the eastern Södermalm schools and was built as early as 1888!

Your Role

Welcome to apply for the position of school assistant at Katarina Södra School. The position offers great variety and includes both payroll management and administrative tasks.

Your role includes being our face to the outside world; you will receive students, visitors, and substitutes. You are the spider in the web, answering the phone and emails, handling mail and forms. You will manage our archive and register our cases, call in substitutes, and handle room bookings. For students, you will manage SL cards, school attendance monitoring, and contact forms. For staff, you will assist with payroll questions, hourly contracts, and absences. You will handle medical certificates and follow up on payroll reporting before payroll processing.

Your Competence and Experience

We are looking for someone with documented completion of high school. High IT competence and experience working in eDok /Lisa self-service/Agresso and BER are required. To thrive in this job, you need to enjoy working on many different tasks simultaneously. You should be meticulous and independent and have a good ability to prioritize. You are unpretentious and have a high service level towards children, guardians, and staff. Experience from schools/preschools is an advantage. Personal qualities will be highly valued.

To succeed in the role of school assistant, you need to be meticulous, structured, and self-driven.

It comes naturally to you to provide good service and to have a professional and pleasant demeanor, as well as an eye for detail.

You thrive in a school environment and are skilled at creating good relationships with both adults and children, as well as having an interest in issues related to students' learning and the school.

The work pace can be high at times, and you must be able to handle several tasks simultaneously.

As a person, you have:

• the ability to independently find solutions to situations that arise and take the initiative for improvements within your own area of work.
• good digital competence and the ability to quickly learn new systems and programs.

Since the job involves many contact points both internally and externally, it is important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
