The Legal Department is responsible for the legal governance of the agency's operations and for driving guiding decisions related to Försäkringskassan's activities. The Legal Department is also responsible for coordinating the agency's regulatory development work and for providing legal support to certain departments. The department also serves as a staff function to the board and the director general in legal matters.

The Legal Department needs more lawyers who can think strategically and creatively and who want to help develop and refine the regulations behind the 21 million decisions Försäkringskassan makes each year, making them clearer and more predictable. We are now looking for more lawyers in the area of Regulatory Development. Currently, there are 12 lawyers working in this area across several locations.

Responsibilities and Tasks

The Regulatory Development area is responsible for the agency's regulatory development work and consultations in legal matters. As a legal expert, this means you will work with handling consultations and the agency's proposals for legislative changes. The tasks span many different areas of law. You will handle issues that are relevant within the Government Offices and help develop applicable law. Larger issues are presented to the agency's top management for decisions. You will represent Försäkringskassan in external forums, such as meetings with the Government Offices and other agencies, as well as within the framework of the network for resilience among disbursing and judicial authorities, against abuse and crime in welfare systems (MUR). Part of the work involves helping to develop operations and working methods.

The position of legal expert is suitable for you who want and can work independently, with great personal responsibility and mandate. It is also beneficial to have an interest in various societal issues. You contribute to good collaboration both within the agency and with other actors such as other agencies. We are looking for you who

• have a law degree
• are qualified as a notary or have experience from other qualified legal work that can be assessed as equivalent
• appreciate and have a very good ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals
• are stable and have the ability to create trust among various partners
• act on your own initiative and take responsibility for results of high quality
• have a systematic and meticulous working method
• can understand and analyze complex issues
• have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you

• have experience from higher courts, e.g., as an assessor, judicial secretary, or rapporteur
• have experience working in the Government Offices
• have other relevant experience from an agency
• have knowledge and interest in digitalization and data protection, total defense law, social insurance law, or work against incorrect disbursements
• have experience and interest in handling consultations or working with regulatory development
• have experience and good ability to lead projects.
