VO Surgery is a so-called university healthcare unit (USV unit) where care, research, and education, as well as the implementation of new knowledge, are core missions.

Description

The position involves a combined role as a reception/contact nurse for the colorectal surgery section. As a contact nurse, you ensure continuity and ensure the patient's participation and influence in their care. We are part of the care chain for patients with benign and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum, and you have overall responsibility for our patients with benign diseases such as proctological diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases while combining this with work as a contact nurse for patients with colon and rectal cancer. If you do not have contact nurse training, we offer it through one of the region's educational institutions.

Responsibilities

In the role of contact nurse, you inform and prepare the patient for upcoming steps in investigation and/or treatment. You participate in doctor appointments and assist in various examinations, sometimes having your own appointments and follow-up telephone consultations. An important task is to provide advice and support to the patient and their relatives. In the benign operation, you will primarily meet patients with proctological diseases and inflammatory bowel diseases and participate in examinations such as transanal ultrasound and anorectal manometry.

Telephone counseling and administrative tasks are included in the form of digital contacts via 1177 and Always Open, control over lead times in care flows and care guarantees, as well as registration and extraction of data from various systems and registers. We are constantly working to develop our digital systems through automation and robotization.

Qualifications

• Licensed Nurse corresponding to Swedish license
• You have at least three years of professional experience as a nurse
• Experience working in a surgical operation or surgical care is an advantage
• You speak and write good Swedish
• You also speak good English
• If you master additional languages, it is an advantage
• Contact nurse training, specialist nurse training in surgery, or experience in surgical nursing is an advantage.

Conditions

Full-time 40 hours per week, daytime Monday to Friday
