The Education Office in Nykvarn Municipality operates four municipal primary schools, two of which also include adapted primary school. The medical interventions of the student health services (EMI) consist of school doctors, school nurses, and the role of the overarching school nurse. EMI is part of the municipality's central student health services led by the head of student health, who is also responsible for the overarching school nurse role. Overarching School Nurse

Job Responsibilities

In the role of the municipal overarching school nurse, you will work to ensure that the medical interventions of student health contribute to creating conditions for all students' health and learning. Together with the responsible head of student health, you will plan, develop, and lead the systematic improvement work within the medical interventions of student health. You will advocate for high patient safety of good quality by being responsible for updating, developing, implementing, and evaluating processes and routines for the operation. In the role of overarching school nurse, you will lead and support the school nurses in their assignments. The introduction of new school nurses and school doctors is also part of the assignment, as well as participating in Nykvarn's digitalization efforts with responsibility for EMI's journal system, Prorenata. Based on the role of the overarching school nurse and the medical interventions within health care, you will participate and contribute to the work for the systematic management system, for the patient safety report, the operational report, and plan, as well as for the continued development of the operation.

The work involves collaboration with colleagues in the central student health services, within the education office, school staff, and organizations and authorities outside the school.

As a person, you demonstrate well-founded and clear values and operate from ethical perspectives where the student/person is at the center. Taking initiative is natural for you in working to plan, implement, and follow up on medical interventions and guide staff. You are secure and stable, with good self-awareness. You find it easy to collaborate and create good relationships with colleagues, managers, and external contacts. When circumstances change, you are flexible, adapt quickly, and see opportunities. You show a good understanding of your role in the student health team to best contribute your medical expertise.

Additional Information

Nykvarn Municipality is a Finnish administrative area, and we consider it an asset if you speak Finnish.

The position is divided into two areas where you will work both as a school nurse at a school and centrally at the education office with medical management responsibility (MLA).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with specialized training in Health and Medical Care for Children and Youth, district nurse, or school nurse. You have previous experience working as a school nurse, and it is advantageous if you also have experience with overarching medical assignments or driving development work at a higher level.

You are engaged and understand the importance of working systematically with quality work and development issues where the student's health and learning are the focus. As a person, you are structured and meticulous in preparation, documentation, and follow-up. You have good strategic skills and an interest in driving and developing EMI to maintain high quality and patient safety. You are self-sufficient while encouraging teamwork where each participant has their unique and important role in achieving a good result. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. You see the opportunities of digitalization and have good computer skills. You are communicative, clear, and create trusting relationships.

You enjoy being the spider in the web and are a responsive and clear leader. You see collaboration as a given, are proactive, have the ability to prioritize, initiate activities, and achieve results. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and have the ability to see opportunities in changes.
