In Trelleborg, we work together to build a growing, successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 urban districts are creative meeting places bubbling with life. Here, we have ambitions, share our stories, and come as we are. This openness allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious spirit.
Welcome to join us on this journey!
The Employment Services Department works to promote the municipality's growth by creating conditions for residents to engage in lifelong learning and achieve self-sufficiency. We focus on skills supply and coordinated operational services for businesses, addressing complex societal challenges with innovative approaches. The department consists of three divisions: Employment, Quality and Coordination, and Campus Trelleborg, and employs around 100 dedicated staff members.
Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is crucial that these values are just as natural to you as they are to us in our work.
The Workplace
Do you want to work with labor market issues and skills supply? Do you have the energy, experience, and courage to create new methods to succeed in this role?
Here, you will have the opportunity to work in a business that makes a real difference for citizens, the business community, and the municipality. Development work is a natural part of everyday life, and you will contribute your expertise to help us reach our goals.
We live by our core values: openness, respect, and responsibility. It is important that you stand by these values and our perspective on skills supply in both word and deed.
Responsibilities
As an Employment Secretary, you will work together with individuals to develop an active labor market plan aimed at employment and/or education and self-sufficiency. Using individual plans, you will ensure that applicants set goals for their own livelihood. You will guide and coordinate measures that are systematically followed up to ensure individuals reach their goals. You will also lead and participate in group activities.
Your daily tasks involve close collaboration with other actors, including the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), other authorities, and the business community. Since much of the work involves collaboration, you must be a strong team player who believes in the benefits of cooperation.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a university degree in social sciences and/or behavioral sciences, with a strong interest in labor market and education issues. You should have good experience in labor market work and/or economic assistance, and be accustomed to organizing your work independently. You must also have extensive experience in guiding and coaching job seekers to achieve self-sufficiency.
The role requires that you believe high expectations lead to high performance, that setting demands is positive, and that you believe in an individual's will and ability to make their own choices.
Your communication skills are your most important work tool. We would appreciate experience in both individual counseling and group activities. Some parts of your tasks may be conducted via digital communication, so digital skills are a merit. You must also be goal-oriented, accustomed to delivering results, and able to work at a fast pace.
As the operations are constantly changing, the role requires flexibility, creativity, and the ability to make independent decisions. Good knowledge of the regional labor market is also required.
We use the business system Lifecare, so experience with this system is considered a merit.
We place great emphasis on personal qualities such as good teamwork skills, commitment, and a positive attitude, as these make a significant difference both for the team and for the individual.
