The responsibilities of the Culture and Leisure Administration include The Cloister in Ystad, Ystad Art Museum, Ystad Library, Youth House, The Arts School, Ystad Arena Swimming Pool and Halls, Nybrostrand Beach, sports facilities, and close contact with the association life. Approximately 100 employees work here to create good conditions for an stimulating and active leisure time and a rewarding, enriching cultural life for the residents of Ystad.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to help create a safer Ystad? The Culture and Leisure Administration in Ystad Municipality is now seeking a Project Manager to lead and drive our new pilot project, Safety Wardens, which runs until 2028-08-31.
Project: The Safety Wardens are a complement to the municipality's other safety-promoting work. Through increased presence in public spaces, especially during weekends and late evenings, they are to contribute to increased safety and well-being for residents and visitors, as well as create more opportunities for dialogue and relationships between the municipality and those who live in and visit Ystad. As Project Manager, you lead the work operationally and drive the project forward based on the project plan.
In this role, you report to the BRÅ Steering Group, which is the project owner, and you are part of the local BRÅ working group where you contribute with information, background material, and dialogue regarding safety work.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Initiate and establish the project based on project directives and the project plan.
- Lead the project and be responsible for its structure, planning, coordination, and communication.
- Supervise the Safety Wardens and be responsible for their working environment.
- Work operationally together with the Safety Wardens in the outreach and relationship-building work, primarily in public spaces and in connection with planned events.
- Engage associations to strengthen adult presence in the municipality during holidays and events.
- Plan, follow up, and report the project's results to the steering group, and ensure that the project's goals are met.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are secure, clear, and relationship-building, and who find it easy to meet people in different situations and environments. You work independently and systematically, are receptive and unpretentious, and have the ability to create trust among both young people and residents as well as partners. You have good judgment, keep your cool in challenging situations, and see the big picture in broad safety work.
The position is based on practical experience combined with the ability to lead and drive work. Therefore, we do not see a university degree as a requirement, but place the greatest emphasis on your experience and personal suitability.
To be qualified for the position, we see that you have:
- Experience in safety-promoting, outreach, and/or relationship-building work, such as field, youth, or leisure work and/or work within safety and security.
- Experience in leading, coordinating, and following up projects or processes.
- Experience in leading and distributing work (supervision).
- Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish.
- Category B driver's license.
Meritorious qualifications include:
- Post-secondary or academic education in areas such as social sciences, behavioral science, social work, public administration, or other relevant fields.
- Experience from politically governed and/or municipal organizations.
- Knowledge of local crime prevention work and collaboration.
- Experience with events as well as safety and security planning.
- Good local knowledge and preferably an established network in Ystad.
Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-09-01. Project employment with the last day of employment being 2028-08-31.
Working hours: Shift schedule. The work includes evenings and weekends based on the needs of the operations, situation assessment, and planned events.
