Torsö Archipelago School is located on the beautiful island of Torsö in Lake Vänern, just a 20-minute drive from the center of Mariestad.

Torsö Archipelago School comprises a preschool, school, and after-school center. There are approximately 30 children in the preschool and around 45–50 students in grades F–6, with about 35 students enrolled in the after-school center. The school offers excellent indoor and outdoor environments, including a school forest, water, and fields, providing ample opportunities for outdoor activities. These environments are consciously integrated into teaching through various projects and thematic work. The different sections are closely intertwined under the same management, with all staff working together towards common goals.

The owner of the operations for the past decade has been Torsö Archipelago School Economic Association. The association has a stable economy, and all school funding goes directly to the operations. We are a non-profit independent school. The number of children and students has been stable for many years, with a slow but steady increase over time.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in primary school grades F–6 according to the curriculum Lgr-22. According to the autumn schedule, this includes teaching and class supervision in preschool class and Swedish in grade 4. The content of the position may vary depending on your qualifications. As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on teaching, as well as creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the school and after-school center teams and contribute to developing the operations forward.
• Be an integral part of the whole Torsö Archipelago School, meaning you work to ensure the entire unit functions well and that everyone feels good.

About You

• You have a teacher's degree with eligibility to teach at the lower and/or middle school level, or a leisure-time pedagogical degree.
• You are flexible and open to varying tasks.
• You have good basic IT skills.
• You can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• You build good relationships with colleagues, guardians, and students.
