Vallhamra School is now seeking an Assistant Teacher for the upcoming autumn term, where you will primarily support individual students or small groups in Year 4.

You will work in close collaboration with teachers, special needs educators, and other professionals within and outside the school. The role involves supporting and mentoring individual students or small groups throughout the school day, both during breaks and lessons. You will help students structure their schoolwork and provide support in social situations. You will also be involved in contact with parents and guardians, contributing to a good cooperation between home and school. The work is characterized by low-affective interaction and clarifying pedagogy.

The position is 80% and the working hours are Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Relevant upper secondary or post-secondary education, such as Child and Youth Programme, Support Assistant, Social Pedagogue, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Experience working with children and young people.

Merits:

• Experience working with children or young people with diabetes.
• Experience working with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD).
• Experience working with a low-affective approach.

As a person, you are attentive to the students' needs and clear in your communication, while also being confident in setting boundaries. You have a respectful approach with a good ability to quickly build relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. It is important that you have an interest and commitment to children and young people from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on completing their studies.

Welcome to Vallhamra School! We are a school located in Southern Sävedalen, close to Vallhamra Square. Approximately 950 students attend our school, from preschool class up to Year 9. Our school is situated in a beautiful natural environment, close to the Skatås and Delsjö areas. The school is divided into three stages across three different buildings. We have a large assembly hall, sports halls, and a well-equipped schoolyard with, among other things, a football pitch, climbing wall, and ping pong tables.
