The Lidköping Culture School is now looking for an engaged piano teacher.

Lidköping is a place where life is rich – in culture, leisure, quality of life, and opportunities. Here at our culture school, children and young people get to discover the joy of music and creativity. We are now looking for a passionate and creative music teacher who wants to help develop our operations and inspire the next generation of musicians and artists.

At the Lidköping Culture School, we primarily teach children and young people aged 5–19, as well as adults if space permits. Our music activities cover music, singing, and ensembles, and we primarily offer teaching in our premises at Stadsträdgården. In autumn 2024, we became a culture school after having been a music school for 49 years. At that time, we also launched our open activities, where children and young people have the opportunity to explore a wide range of cultural expressions at various locations around the municipality.

Responsibilities

As a piano teacher at the Culture School in Lidköping, you teach children and young people piano, both in chord playing and sheet music. You plan, conduct, and follow up on teaching based on each student's prerequisites, interests, and goals. The position also includes participating in concerts, performances, and other events, as well as collaborating with colleagues within the Culture School to develop the operations. You actively contribute to creating an inspiring and inclusive learning environment where students are given the opportunity to develop musically and personally.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have music pedagogical education with a focus on piano or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have good pedagogical skills and experience in teaching children and young people. You are engaged, creative, and have an easy time building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You are flexible and thrive working both independently and together with others. We value that you have a broad musical interest and the ability to meet students with different backgrounds, experiences, and musical ambitions.

Work in the evenings occurs. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Certificate of Good Conduct

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are required to present a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) for work in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in activities other than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), work at or in connection with HVB homes (homes for care or residence), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
