About the Position

We are now looking for mother tongue teachers in Finnish, Spanish, and Thai for hourly employment within the central student health service.

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines. Through teaching, you strengthen the students' language development, identity, and opportunities to develop both their mother tongue and multilingualism.

The teaching covers students in grades F–6 attending various schools in Hjo Municipality. It takes place mainly after regular school hours and can be conducted both individually and in small groups based on the students' needs.

The assignment includes, among other things:

• planning, implementing, and evaluating mother tongue teaching
• adapting teaching to the students' linguistic level and needs
• documenting teaching and writing assessments
• collaborating with school staff and guardians
• participating in network meetings and follow-ups as needed.

You work independently but have support from the student health manager and other colleagues within the operation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• a high school education or other education that the employer deems equivalent
• very good knowledge of the mother tongue you will teach
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• pedagogical skills and an interest in children's learning and development.

It is meritorious if you:

• have teacher training or are studying to become a teacher
• have experience in teaching or other pedagogical work with children and young people.

Since the teaching takes place at several schools within the municipality, you must have a B driver's license and access to your own car.
