The position is within the subject of Information Technology, which at the University of Skövde is defined as the study of how information is represented, processed, and communicated in artificial and natural systems, as well as how information technology systems are used and developed to achieve useful system solutions for individuals, organizations, or society. The subject of Information Technology is in an expansive phase, and we are looking for more employees who want to develop our operations in both teaching and research!
Your Role
We are looking for you who want to strengthen and develop our operations within information and cyber security – a field with strong growth and significant societal relevance. As a Lecturer, you will contribute to the development of research, education, and collaboration, as well as contribute to the University's joint activities.
You are expected to contribute to developing and strengthening our research, particularly by initiating and participating in externally funded projects. Our participation in Cybercampus Sweden and strategic investments create good opportunities to build a clear research profile. Over time, you will develop your own research direction and contribute to a strong and growing research environment.
You will primarily teach at the undergraduate and advanced levels, and to some extent at the doctoral level. The role involves contributing to and further developing education in an area where demand for competence is high. You will actively contribute to collaboration with the surrounding society by developing external partnerships, participating in commissioned education, and strengthening the visibility and relevance of research.
The main tasks of the position are:
- Teaching in information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity.
- Research in information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity.
- Lead and participate in applications for externally funded research, primarily focusing on information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity protection.
Additional tasks may be included in the position.
Requirements
The following are required for the position:
- A completed PhD degree or equivalent scientific competence or other professional skills that are significant with regard to the subject content of the position and the tasks involved.
- Documented pedagogical skill.
- Documented experience from teaching and research in information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity.
- Documented ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Of highest importance are:
- The degree of skill that is a requirement for eligibility.
- Documented scientific skill.
- Documented experience in conducting research in information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity.
- Documented experience in teaching and course development in information and cyber security, as well as personal integrity.
Of next highest importance are:
- Documented good collaboration skills.
- Completed university pedagogy education of at least 15 higher education credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.
- Experience of collaboration between academia, business, and the public sector.
Also of importance are:
- Documented good administrative skill.
- Documented good ability for independence in work.
