About the Role

Karolinerskolan is a primary school (grades F–6) with approximately 190 students. The school is located in Dals Rostock and offers an inspiring schoolyard as well as proximity to forests and nature.

At Karolinerskolan, we work to ensure that every student feels safe, included, and has the opportunity to develop based on their individual prerequisites. Here, you will become an important part of the school's student health team and work in close collaboration with other staff, students, and guardians. Together, we develop an accessible learning environment and create the best conditions for all students to succeed, both academically and socially.

Responsibilities

As a special needs teacher/special educator, you work preventively, promotively, and remedially to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment where all students are given the best possible conditions to succeed. You collaborate closely with the school's student health team, staff, and guardians.

You identify and map students' needs for support, as well as plan, implement, document, and follow up on extra adaptations and special support. You teach individual students and small groups, and support teachers in special educational work through guidance and counseling.

In this role, you contribute to developing inclusive learning environments, strengthening the special educational perspective in the operations, and participating in mapping, follow-ups, and early interventions. You work on an individual, group, and organizational level, focusing on students' academic and social development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed special educator or special needs teacher with experience working in primary schools.

You have good knowledge of special educational methods, accessible learning environments, and inclusive teaching, as well as experience in mapping, planning, and following up on teaching and interventions for students in need of support.

You have a solution-focused approach and enjoy mentoring and supporting colleagues in special educational work. You collaborate with teachers, the student health team, the principal, and guardians, and actively contribute to the school's development work.

As a person, you are secure, responsible, flexible, and structured. You have a professional attitude, good communication skills, and can work both independently and in close collaboration with others. You have a genuine commitment to creating good conditions for all students' learning, development, and participation.
