SiS Youth Home Margretelund receives girls and boys who are not subject to compulsory schooling, with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have operations in Lidköping and near Falköping.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Margretelund is now looking for an English teacher, with qualifications to teach in lower secondary school and upper secondary school. As a teacher here, you teach in small groups with extra adaptations based on each student's needs. Almost all teaching takes place within the framework of the introduction program. We have our students for shorter or longer periods, and it is important to have a positive attitude and faith in each individual's developmental potential. The students' varying experiences and results from previous schooling mean that the teaching can be both motivating and knowledge-transmitting.

We work in a co-teaching model, which means that you plan, conduct, follow up, and document the teaching with your subject colleague. You will both collaborate with and receive support from other professional groups such as school counselors, treatment secretaries, treatment pedagogues, and psychologists.

Qualifications

You need to be attracted by the opportunity to teach and build trusting pedagogical relationships in smaller teaching groups consisting of students with psychosocial problems and criminality. It is important that you can identify and meet the student's needs with high realistic expectations, as well as motivate and lead the student towards their goals.

We would like you to be unpretentious, flexible, able to set and maintain boundaries in a respectful way, and have confidence that all students can find a path to education and work.

You must have:

• Teacher certification, and qualifications to teach English in lower secondary and upper secondary school.
• Ability to plan, teach, and follow up on your teaching.
• Experience of pedagogical work in a school environment.

It is also meritorious if you:

• Have experience of working within the introduction program as well as work in special teaching groups.
• Have qualifications to teach more subjects than English.

Employment:

The position is a full-time seasonal employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
