Description

Approximately 580 students attend Hovåsskolan, from preschool class to grade 9. The school also has a leisure center with four units and an adapted primary school. Hovåsskolan is located near the sea and the forest. We utilize nature both during lesson time and during leisure activities.

Hovåsskolan's primary goal is for students to be active participants in their learning and for students and staff to jointly create the best conditions for students to develop good factual knowledge and skills. All students shall receive the support, security, and stimulation they need throughout the school day. Students shall, together with staff and each other, develop their social skills. Hovåsskolan aims to create an environment where all students are included so that they leave school with great confidence in themselves.

Responsibilities

In your role as a special needs teacher, you guide staff and act as a qualified conversation partner, advisor, and support. You conduct pedagogical assessments such as reading, writing, and mathematics assessments, and analyze students' need for support. The work involves active participation in the school's student health work together with other competencies in the student health team, and you support the principal with background information when making decisions on measures for students in need of special support. It is also important that you collaborate with other school forms and external competencies.

Together with the school's management group, you drive the development of pedagogical work where we specifically focus on the goal of meeting the needs of all students. You are also involved in the development of the learning environments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher and have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on language, writing, and reading development or mathematics. Experience working as a special needs teacher is an advantage.

As a person, you are team-oriented and have the ability to work together with others to perform tasks and achieve goals. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You proceed from the equal value of all and create a good atmosphere in the meeting.

You have a holistic view and can overview your own area of responsibility and put the significance of your own operations in a larger context. You show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. Furthermore, you are structured, set clear goals, and plan activities and projects in good time. You ensure that the work is completed and follow up on the results.
