ABOUT US

The City Mission's study support aims to provide conditions for students in grades 4–6 to receive support in their schooling to ensure they complete their studies. Currently, we offer study support with the goal of working with study support as an independent effort, but also as an entry point to strengthen the child's general living conditions both inside and outside of school.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a person for our study support program at a middle school in Biskopsgården. The number of work shifts is 2 per week, 2.5 hours per session, on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the school terms, plus extra if needed. Working hours are scheduled on weekday afternoons between 13:00–17:00, depending on when the children finish school (times are set at the beginning of each new school year).

As a study supporter, you support the children in their studies after school hours and contribute to a meaningful leisure time during holidays. During the terms, two study support sessions are held per week and school, where you will be 2 study supporters, volunteers, and a social worker per session. Snacks are offered at all our study support sessions. We also offer holiday activities for the children during all holidays and child councils.

WHO ARE YOU?

You have a high school diploma, and experience in study support is an advantage.

You follow our developed study support concept and act as a role model as our face to the outside. You are creative and work based on the existing conditions and resources, and you are passionate about creating good conditions for children in their studies.

Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required. Proficiency in Arabic, Somali, and Turkish is an advantage. If you also have pedagogical experience, we prioritize this highly.

You have plenty of patience and preferably a smile on your lips, as we meet children with different needs in our operations. We appreciate that you are good at keeping time and place great value on personal qualities, such as enjoying meeting the children and being able to offer adequate and good study support.
