Description
We are now looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 4–6 with subject competence in Swedish, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies (SO). The position is fixed-term and runs from September 2026 to June 2027.
Oscar Fredriksskolan is a school for grades F–6 located in the heart of Linnéstaden with good transport connections via both bus and tram. Here, approximately 40 staff members work with our 380 students. Together with Fjällskolan, we form the school area Centrum 13. Near the school, you will find Slottsskogen, the Botanical Garden, playgrounds, and a rich cultural offering that we take part in. Oscar Fredriksskolan is a PALS school in collaboration with the Region Västra Götaland. This means we drive systematic work to create a good learning environment where students thrive, feel safe, and have good opportunities for development and learning. We are also a training school for VFU (teacher education practicum) students, where almost all teachers act as supervisors.
Responsibilities
We are now looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 4–6 with subject competence in Swedish, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. You will be attached to the working group for grades 4–6 and have close collaboration with your colleagues. Your main role will be as a homeroom teacher in grade 5, with some teaching in our SU-group (special needs education) for grades 4–6. The position includes responsibility for planning, conducting, and evaluating lessons, as well as mentorship. In the role of a teacher with us, we are looking for someone with good cooperation skills to help us reach our goals. We also value that you work for a respectful work climate and create good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians.
Collegial learning is central to our operations, and we expect you to have a strong interest and commitment to this. We expect you to actively contribute to the school's ongoing development work regarding issues of knowledge, security, and study environment.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 4–6 in Swedish, Mathematics, English, and Social Studies. Previous experience of teaching in an SU-group is desirable.
As a person, you work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You bring new ideas and perspectives to the job and contribute to problem-solving. You are curious, encourage dialogue and questions, and see more than one possible solution. You translate your creativity into practice and lead to results.
Furthermore, you can change how you work when things change. You can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in changes. You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different prerequisites. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient and encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.
