We are looking for a Strategic Communicator for the Culture, Communication and Language Unit
The Swedish Institute showcases Sweden's opportunities in the world. Our mission is to strengthen, protect, and safeguard the image of Sweden abroad.
The Culture, Communication and Language Unit works to make Sweden, Swedish competence, and Swedish experiences visible to an international audience, as well as promoting the Swedish language globally. We highlight themes that are central to both Sweden and the wider world, such as innovation, trade, sustainability, culture, cultural industries, and societal issues.
We work internationally by communicating with audiences abroad and by developing communication materials in collaboration with relevant actors in Sweden. The material is collected on the website https://sharingsweden.se (https://sharingsweden.se). SharingSweden is primarily used by Sweden's embassies and consulates in over 100 countries in their work to promote Sweden and Swedish interests.
The position combines two areas of responsibility: product ownership for the SharingSweden website and the development of the organization's communication on the website.
As product owner, you have overall responsibility for the website's strategic development, management, and results. You lead and coordinate the work together with a communicator/project manager and a web editor, and collaborate with project managers who develop content for publication. You are responsible for setting goals, prioritizing development efforts, and ensuring that the website meets the needs of the target audiences and the organization's goals. Together with the team, you work to increase traffic, usage, and impact of the website's content. The working language of the website is English.
As a strategic communicator, you provide strategic and operational support to colleagues in the creation of communication materials for the website. You also contribute to the organization's digital development, support the ordering of communication materials, and drive your own communication initiatives and projects as needed. In your work, you have support from procured suppliers within areas such as design, photography, video, and strategic communication.
The role involves many contact surfaces and close collaborations within the organization. Therefore, you need to be receptive and collaborative, while also having integrity, good judgment, and the ability to prioritize and drive the work forward. You may also present the organization to external audiences.
We work in teams, which means you need to thrive in collaborating and creating results together with others.
We are looking for someone who:
- has an academic degree in strategic communication, marketing, or another relevant field
- has at least five years of experience working as a strategic communicator or equivalent
- has at least five years of experience coordinating teams and driving joint work
- has experience producing communication materials, such as exhibitions, social media content, print materials, presentations (PPT), and talking points
- is an experienced commissioner of communication materials
- has experience developing target group analyses as well as analyzing customer journeys and user behaviors
- has experience working with the web or other web-based channels
- can communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- has experience working for a government agency
It is also meritorious if you have:
- experience communicating with international audiences
- experience working in a fast-paced environment
- experience strategically assessing and planning for AI's impact on operations, processes, and working methods
As a person, you are creative, results-oriented, collaborative, and secure. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Duration and Start Date
The employment is a fixed-term contract until 2027-09-30 with a start date of 2026-09-15. Your job title within the agency will be Communicator.
There is an opportunity to work from home 2 days per week if the work allows.
