Workplace Description

Research takes place at the Biomedical Centre in Lund, in close proximity to Skåne University Hospital in Lund. The research is conducted at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, under the leadership of Docent Sandra Lindstedt, with a focus on clinical research regarding lung transplantation and advanced therapies for lung diseases. The research group consists of 12 full-time researchers. There is access to an active and fully functional laboratory at the BMC, as well as 'core facilities' at Lund University such as histology, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry, and advanced imaging, with which we have ongoing collaborations and projects.

We are now looking for a Clinical Assistant on a 100% basis for the period from 2026-08-03 to 2026-08-28.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As a Clinical Assistant, your tasks will include:

  • Further development of a doctoral project where the doctoral candidate will defend their thesis in May 2026.
  • Finalizing scientific projects and publications.

Requirements for the position are:

  • Admitted to doctoral studies in medicine or dentistry (in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance Chapter 5, Section 12).
  • Master's degree in medical science (biomedicine, molecular biology, or equivalent).
  • PhD studies in a relevant subject, with a requirement to have passed the half-time review.
  • Experience of at least 4 years of research in lung transplantation.
  • Good laboratory skills.
  • Demonstrated co-authorship or first-authorship of peer-reviewed scientific articles in the relevant research field.

As a person, we see that you have a good ability to organize your work and a high degree of independence. We also appreciate that you have good collaboration skills.

Qualifications that are meritorious for the position:

  • More than 3 years of completed PhD studies are meritorious.
  • Experience working with translational studies, preferably in large animals such as pig models.
  • Experience and understanding of molecular analysis methods.
  • Experience with clinical studies and a good understanding of patient-oriented research.

Other Information

The position is 100% and fixed-term according to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF) Chapter 5, Sections 8-12, for the period from 2026-08-03 to 2026-08-28.
