About the role and your responsibilities

Working as a lead teacher in primary and adapted primary school within the Child and School Administration primarily involves strengthening pedagogical development work to achieve higher goal fulfillment at your own workplace and, secondarily, within the operations of Lund Municipality. The lead teacher has a special responsibility for systematic quality work and operates with the premise that the school continues to develop into a learning organization, working on behalf of the principal as follows:

• The role of lead teacher includes teaching and other tasks associated with the teaching profession for at least 50% of working hours.
• As a lead teacher, you have special responsibility for general and subject-specific didactic development supported by research, as well as for the school/operation's focus areas linked to systematic quality work.
• As a lead teacher, you play a key role in collegial learning.

The content and conditions of the position are specified in dialogue between school leadership and the lead teacher at each respective school/operation based on the guidelines above. This is done prior to each school year. At Byskolan, you will be part of Byskolan's development group as well as the joint development group for the Sandby area.

We are looking for you

To be considered for a lead teacher position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be a certified teacher.
• Through documentation, be able to report at least four years of well-regarded work with teaching within the framework of one or more employments within the school system (the requirements are considered met even if the teaching was done as an unqualified teacher, at a leisure-time center, or part-time).
• Have shown particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and have a strong interest in developing teaching.
• Have good knowledge of developing teaching and be assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks associated with teaching.

To succeed in your role as a lead teacher, you need to be secure, stable, and self-aware. You see relationships in their proper perspective, distinguish the personal from the professional, and adapt your approach to the situation. Furthermore, you need to have a good ability to relate to others in a listening and flexible manner; you listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. Creating and maintaining good relationships in the workplace is something you value highly.

We are looking for someone who can think strategically and has a broad perspective on issues. You see the long-term significance and consequences of matters and adjust your actions accordingly. We also believe that you, as an applicant, understand the professional aspects of your work particularly well. You continuously maintain your specialist knowledge and serve as a knowledge resource for others. Good knowledge of digital tools is also a requirement.

About the workplace

• At Byskolan, approximately 350 students attend from preschool class to grade 6. At Österskolan, there are approximately 90 students in grades F-3.
• At Byskolan, we strive for continuity and security for the students by ensuring they meet the same adults in their work team throughout the day; in preschool class, at school, and at the leisure-time center.
• School meals are prepared in the school's own KRAV-certified kitchen, where most ingredients are organic and locally produced. Our kitchen has also won White Guide Junior prizes.
• It is important to us that students are taught in a democratic spirit. We have several councils at the school with different focuses that drive important issues. The students are very involved in the development of our large schoolyard – all with a sustainable development perspective. The school has received the awards "Green Flag" and "School for Sustainable Development".
• Byskolan and Österskolan are partner schools, which means we continuously have teacher students during their practicum periods and exchange with Malmö University. The school is also part of the National Association's initiative "Joy of Movement in School," which aims to increase students' physical activity and create joy of movement.
• At Byskolan, the student health team is an active building block in systematic quality work. We work proactively as well as reactively regarding issues such as security and study environment, as well as to promote school attendance.
