About the School

Prästavångsskolan has a total of approximately 360 students. This autumn, the school will merge into a grades F-6 school. The school has five after-school center departments; four grade-specific after-school departments for grades F-3 and a joint after-school club for the older students in grades 4-6.

The school has worked health-promoting for many years through health councils, value foundation teams, and student health teams. Our movement initiative in collaboration with RF-SISU Skåne permeates a large part of the school's operations and breaks. In recent years, we have also become a "Reading Owns" school and linked reading with movement with extra reading-promoting initiatives before and during holidays. Reading should be a natural part of both the school and the after-school center.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, you are responsible, together with your work team, for planning, implementation, documentation, and follow-up of teaching in grades 5-6 according to current steering documents. The teaching is primarily conducted in co-teaching, where we base ourselves on research and proven teaching models to create accessible and inclusive learning environments. The assignment may also include targeted intensive interventions for individual students or smaller student groups.

You work in close collaboration with colleagues in the work team and student health services, and actively contribute to the school's development work and common value foundation. Documentation, formative assessment, and follow-up of students' learning are a natural part of the assignment. Shared mentorship within the grade level may be included in the position.

Östra Göinge Municipality's extra school initiative "School Journey 2030," for higher goal fulfillment, is a major focus for all our school operations.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher for the lower secondary school with the right to teach in grades 4-6. You have the ability to create secure relationships, lead teaching with clarity and structure, and actively contribute to collegial learning. You work solution-focused, value-based, and take responsibility for both teaching and joint development.

We are looking for someone who is engaged, responsible, and has a professional approach. You are flexible, solution-focused, and enjoy working in close collaboration with others. You have a good ability to create secure relationships with students and meet them based on their different prerequisites. You work from a low-affective approach, are attentive in meetings with students, and can maintain calm and clarity even in challenging situations. Furthermore, you are structured, communicative, and have a secure and clear leadership in teaching.

Prästavångsskolan is a "Reading Owns" school, where reading and language development are a common concern for the entire operation. An extra interest in literature, reading-promoting work, and students' reading development is therefore important in this position. The school is also health-profiled, where movement and physical activity are a natural part of the school day and permeate teaching and after-school activities. You have good ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
