We are currently looking for a student assistant for Hammars Adapted Primary School in Kristianstad Municipality. Together with us, you will have the opportunity to provide students with special needs the best conditions for learning and development.

Your role with us

As a student assistant, you work closely with the students to create a safe, understandable, and meaningful school day. You support students individually and in groups with a low-affective approach, focusing on learning, development, and increased independence. The work is carried out in consultation with the responsible teacher and according to the current curriculum. You are present throughout the entire school day – in the classroom, during breaks, in the leisure center, as well as during meals and hygiene situations.

The role requires constant attention, analytical skills, and understanding of various situations. In close collaboration with colleagues and guardians, you strive to find individual solutions that benefit each student's development. The role is both physically and mentally demanding, requiring a professional and stable attitude.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have one of the following educations or experiences:

• A high school diploma from the Child and Youth Program with a focus on pedagogical and social work.
• Passed the Vocational Package Student Assistant within adult education or equivalent education at a folk high school.
• Degree/passed grades from another education that the employer deems sufficient in pedagogy and child development.
• Or: You meet part of the educational requirements and have at least three years of experience as a student assistant.

Documented experience working with people with disabilities is a requirement. Previous experience as a student assistant or similar tasks is meritorious.

We would like you to have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), handling challenging behavior, and knowledge regarding care and hygiene. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge about tube feeding, transfer techniques, epilepsy, diabetes, visual and hearing impairments, and digital communication aids.

You are a balanced, stable, and empathetic person with good skills in collaboration and motivating students. To handle the physical demands of the job, good physical fitness, a B-driving license, swimming ability, and cycling skills are required.

We offer

A permanent position starting August 18, 2026. The salary is individual and differentiated according to collective agreements.
