Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for you who are a special education teacher and are interested in a new assignment with us at Apelgårdsskolan!
At Apelgårdsskolan, student health work is the responsibility of the entire school, to create "Every Student's Best School". Through various forums, you are responsible for the important work of creating accessible learning environments for all students at the school. This position primarily involves working with grades 4-9.
You support teachers in their work with the aim of identifying students' needs and organizing instruction that meets all students' needs. We strive for good collaboration where student health professionals and teachers are given the opportunity to work together regarding leadership, stimulation, and support measures. You are responsible for and develop the work with support measures in close collaboration with the work team. You conduct further training based on the school's systematic quality work.
You plan and conduct instruction, mapping, guidance, and observations based on needs at the individual and group levels. You are responsible for the process regarding special support and the associated documentation, such as pedagogical investigations, action plans, as well as follow-up and evaluation.
You are part of the student health team together with a special education teacher, school nurse, counselor, school psychologist, and school leadership, and collaborate with educators, guardians, and other external actors.

Qualifications
You who apply are a certified primary school teacher and have a special education degree, preferably with a focus on language, writing, and reading. It is a requirement that you have previous experience working as a primary school teacher and with early reading and writing acquisition. At the school, we work with The Simple View of Reading, so naturally, you have experience with this. Previous experience working as a special education teacher or special educator is meritorious.
You have insight and knowledge within school development and about the school's governing documents, and can apply them in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in guidance/further training, student health work, and working with documentation, pedagogical investigations, extra adaptations, and special support/action plans. Knowledge of NPF (Neurodevelopmental Disorders) is meritorious.
You have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize the work towards the student(s) to create study peace and a good learning environment throughout the day.
Based on evidence-based research, we see that you can develop your work, and we want you to be accustomed to and familiar with working with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
