In Trelleborg, we work together to build a growing, successful municipality where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 urban districts are creative meeting places bubbling with life. Here, we have ambitions, share our stories, and come as we are. This openness allows us to welcome others in the same generous and curious spirit.

Welcome to join the journey!

The Education Department is responsible for preschool, compulsory school, special needs school, upper secondary school, and special needs upper secondary school. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We work to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.

Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values – openness, respect, and responsibility – it is important and crucial that these values are just as natural for you as they are for us in our work.

The Workplace

We are now looking for a teacher with qualifications in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (NO) who, together with colleagues, is responsible for teaching students in grades 6–9.

Skegrie School is a grades F–9 school located northwest of central Trelleborg. The lower secondary section has two parallel classes and will be fully expanded by autumn 2026. During the current academic year, grades 7–9 moved into newly built premises.

We actively work to be a school of our time. Students learn in many different ways, both digitally and with pen and paper. We believe in good contact between school and home and regularly inform guardians about teaching and school activities. Approximately 500 students aged 6–15 attend the school.

You will be welcomed by a cheerful group with great commitment and a strong sense of teamwork. We help each other when needed and always have a good laugh. We offer you a good work environment with stimulating tasks and opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating varied and engaging Mathematics and Natural Sciences teaching tailored to students' different prerequisites and knowledge levels. You are responsible for maintaining a high safety standard and instructing students in safe handling during laboratory work. Together with a colleague, you are the supervisor for the handling of flammable substances in Natural Sciences teaching.

The teaching should be permeated by a language- and knowledge-developing approach characterized by student participation, clear learning goals that are evaluated and followed up. Your lessons should have a clear structure, and the content should be explained and contextualized for the students. The role includes being a class mentor and participating in team work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Technology. Experience in teaching all Natural Science subjects is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the compulsory school curriculum documents.

Furthermore, you need to have good proficiency in Swedish, as the work involves a high degree of communication, both oral and written, with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You are a secure and stable person with self-awareness who collaborates well with others in a listening and flexible manner to jointly develop a meaningful and stimulating operation.

Work is structured and carried out with good planning, clear organization, and effective follow-up. You are development-oriented, take initiative, and have clear communication skills, ensuring that expectations and messages reach the relevant students and colleagues.

You value differences and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect both yourself and others. You take this insight into account when making decisions and choosing courses of action.

In the classroom, you are a secure leader who wants all students to reach their full potential and helps them succeed.
