The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment.
About the position

Responsibilities
As a Study and Career Counselor at Adult Education Ystad, you work with counseling contacts with prospective and existing students on our in-house education programs.
Your duties include study counseling, information to individuals and groups, as well as individual study planning and the creation of individual study plans. Further tasks include working with educational information, monitoring individual study plans, assessing eligibility, creating priority lists, and other work related to admissions. This also includes admissions to our vocational package for care and nursing.
The work also involves collaboration with various authorities, municipalities, and other educational providers.
Additionally, you are part of a Resource Team consisting of a special education teacher and a School Counselor (SYV). As part of the Resource Team, you participate in regular student conferences, are involved in student follow-ups, and work according to the Resource Team's routines.
Qualifications
You are a trained study and career counselor and have previous experience in the role. You are accustomed to working with digital tools and various operational systems, and you easily adapt to new digital systems and resources. We currently use Edlevo.
You have high social competence and find it easy to collaborate and communicate with others. You have a strong commitment to your field of work and are driven, self-reliant, and have an eye for what needs to be done. It is important that you can communicate clearly and appropriately in different situations.
You are self-reliant, structured, have good prioritization skills, and ambition to carry out the work with quality. You are also relationship-building and receptive with a positive attitude that shows in your meetings with people.
You enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to take charge of joint tasks that the work group is responsible for when needed. Once you are settled in the role, we expect you to be proactive, identify areas for development, take initiative for changes and improvements, and dare to challenge for development based on emerging needs and requirements.
