Job Description

Are you the teacher who makes chemistry and biology exciting through varied teaching, smart pedagogy, and a forward-thinking approach?

As a high school teacher in chemistry and biology, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in accordance with current guidelines. You work to create stimulating, inclusive, and structured learning environments that promote students' knowledge development, motivation, and independent learning. In this role, you also contribute to active collaboration within work teams and subject teams, where you are involved in developing teaching and the school's overall quality.

The duties include, among other things:

• Plan and conduct teaching in chemistry and biology at the upper secondary level, and create a safe, respectful, and positive study environment.
• Differentiate teaching to meet students' different needs and prerequisites.
• Assess and grade students' knowledge according to the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines.
• Follow up on students' development and document results.
• Collaborate with colleagues in work teams, subject teams, and student health services.
• Maintain regular contact with guardians as needed.

This position also offers the opportunity to be offered a role as a Lead Teacher. As a Lead Teacher, your duties also include:

• Promote and develop more equitable teaching.
• Strengthen colleagues' ability to use each other as resources and collaborate in teaching.
• Spread and share experience and good teaching examples with colleagues.

Requirements for the position:

• Teaching certification with eligibility to teach chemistry and biology at the upper secondary level.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines, course plans, and assessment criteria.
• Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

• Experience of teaching chemistry and biology at the upper secondary level.
• Experience with or interest in the Lead Teacher role, as well as at least four years of well-evaluated teaching experience.
