Responsibilities
We are now looking for a Study and Career Counselor for Apelgårdsskolan and are seeking someone who is passionate about the coaching role associated with this position.
The position is shared with Rosengårdsskolan, and you will work there 50% of the time. Your direct supervisor will be the principal of Apelgårdsskolan.
As a Study and Career Counselor with us, you work to guide and inform our students and their guardians about upper secondary education, high school choices, career opportunities, and the future labor market. You encourage our students' interest and curiosity regarding their upcoming choices and direction, and also contribute to increasing their general knowledge about working life. You hold counseling conversations with individual students and sometimes with student groups.
On both schools, we work systematically to implement, follow up, and evaluate the entire school's SYV (Study and Career Counseling) mission. The SYV, in close collaboration with the principals of both schools, is responsible for ensuring that the SYV plan is a living document in the operations. The SYV leads joint follow-ups together with representatives from the work team.
Other tasks that may occur include:
Organizing and administering work experience education (prao) in year 8.
Coordinating high school days, job shadowing, and theme days.
Collaborating with teachers regarding study and career counseling.
Supporting and developing the study and career counseling work at the school.
In the role of Study and Career Counselor at Apelgårdsskolan and Rosengårdsskolan, you collaborate with the student health team, which consists of:
Special needs teachers, counselors, special educators, psychologists, student coordinators, and assistant principals.
There may also be close and frequent collaborations with other staff members at the school in the work to achieve student goals.
So take the chance and apply to us. We offer you an attractive workplace that gives you great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow – throughout their entire professional life. We also want to develop as employers and work actively to best utilize your knowledge and commitment.
Qualifications
You who apply have a university degree as a Study and Career Counselor. If you have experience working as a Study and Career Counselor, especially in primary and lower secondary school, we consider it an advantage.
You have good insight into the school's goals and governing documents and a high level of digital competence. We would like you to have some education or knowledge in a coaching approach.
You have good social skills, are easy to connect with, and create good relationships with students, as they are at the center of our operations. You are structured, which you demonstrate by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. You are solution-oriented and flexible in your availability for students and guardians, teachers, principals, and the student health team. You have good collaboration skills and can work with different teams around the students and with the students' guardians. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing.
Naturally, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
We look forward to receiving your application!
