You want something. We do too! We want to create value and contribute to the quality of life for our residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors. Together with others, we do this by listening, helping each other, testing, learning, and then testing again. Here, anything is possible for you who want to create, change, care for, build, guide, develop, and make a difference. Together, we make Helsingborg one of the best cities to live and work in.

About the workplace

The welfare of the future is our great challenge. To meet it, we at the Employment Administration have a very important mission: We must make it possible for residents receiving financial assistance to become self-sufficient as quickly as possible, while also helping employers find the right competence.

We meet this challenge with a wide range of adult education programs and labor market initiatives – and we try new ways of working together with the business community, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare, test new things, and find smart solutions.

We are approximately 400 colleagues in the administration, and our role is to give residents the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood. Additionally, we coordinate the city's work with migration and establishment issues.

Job Description

To enable more residents of Helsingborg receiving financial assistance to participate in work-oriented activities, "Framstegsjobb" (Progress Jobs) has emerged during 2025 as an important part of the administration's work. The concept means that residents receiving financial assistance are employed at a workplace for a period. During this period, they work and receive coaching on practical matters, as well as participate in theoretical education in areas such as Swedish for Work and Service and Customer Care. Our goal is to weave together the participants' practical daily life with what we present in the classroom.

An important part of the assignment is to supervise the participants to give them a foundation to stand on within their professional field. You do this by highlighting the residents' strengths and areas for development in educational situations and equipping the individual for working life. A key to success is that we believe in the resident's drive and abilities.

We are now looking for teachers who will work in a team to meet the needs within Framstegsjobb, but also in contractual operations towards companies in the municipality with the aim of further training staff in areas including Swedish for Work. This important assignment will involve, among other things, teaching in service and customer care and Swedish for Work in our own premises at Rönnowsgatan 10 in Helsingborg, as well as work in a more practical context out at workplaces. Collaboration with colleagues at the adult education center and out at workplaces will be part of the work, along with some administration.

Qualifications

We want you to:

  • Be a certified teacher with at least 30 ECTS credits in Swedish as a Second Language.
  • Have experience working as a vocational teacher and/or language teacher within Adult Education.
  • Be comfortable working in a group and be curious and open to testing new ways of working to help the groups you work with.
