About the Role

Astar is looking for a vocational teacher in gas welding for our plumbing (VVS) education in Malmö.

The role involves teaching adult students with varying prior knowledge in the course Gas Welding. The teaching takes place on-site at our welding workshop in Astar Malmö.

In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that students develop both theoretical and practical skills to perform gas welding of pipes as part of the trade of plumbing technician. You also ensure that students develop knowledge regarding laws, environmental requirements, and safety in the area.

As a vocational teacher at Astar, you plan, conduct, and follow up on your teaching in close collaboration with colleagues within the education program.

Scope and Period

• Location: Astar Malmö
• Scope: Full-time teaching during current periods
• Autumn 2026 periods:
  • Weeks 35–39
  • Weeks 47–50
• Possibility of continued assignment during 2027

The assignment can be structured as part-time employment or a consulting solution.

Your Role as a Teacher at Astar

As a teacher at Astar, you have clear responsibility for the entire learning process – from planning to implementation and follow-up. You lead the teaching in a structured way, create a calm study environment, and drive student development forward with high expectations.

The teaching is characterized by teacher-led structure where you actively guide students through the modules, ensure understanding, and provide ongoing feedback.

You also contribute to creating links to working life and support students' path to employability, among other things, through dialogue with the industry and workplaces.

Who We Are Looking For

• Have at least 2 years of professional experience in welding, preferably with a focus on gas welding.
• Have experience in plumbing (VVS) or a related field.
• Are confident in leading practical teaching.
• Have a good understanding of safety, environmental requirements, and regulations in the area.
• Are qualified according to ES5817 (certificate in gas welding and soldering).

Meritorious Qualifications

• Pedagogical education or teaching experience.
• Experience in adult education.
• Vocational teacher education within the specialization.
