Spängerskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with an associated after-school center, located approximately 2 miles north of Kristianstad city center. The school is close to forests and nature. We have a student health team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, special needs educator, special needs teacher, and principal. Additionally, a school psychologist is linked to our student health team.

Based on the "Successful Teaching" approach, the school's pedagogical development group, led by the principals, works with structured and organized collegial learning based on research and evidence-based learning.

Your Role With Us

As a special needs teacher, you work with advanced knowledge in reading, writing, and language development, or alternatively, mathematical development, with a focus on the individual level. You use special pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and conduct teaching, and to support the student based on their specific difficulties.

You conduct and document mappings, investigations, and various forms of pedagogical tests. The goal is to increase understanding of the student's difficulties in schoolwork. As a special needs teacher, you also contribute your expertise to the work with pedagogical investigations, adaptations, and action plans. You work actively to remove obstacles and difficulties in the learning environment, as well as to develop alternative learning environments and tools. Questions regarding inclusion and core values are a natural part of your daily work.

The role involves building relationships, both internally and externally, characterized by mutual respect and trust. You meet students where they are and serve as a qualified conversation partner regarding children's and students' language or mathematical development, in both team work and the student health team.

You meet students with high expectations, engaging, inspiring, and stimulating them towards learning and personal responsibility. You lead and organize work to create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect and cooperation. You systematically reflect on and evaluate practical work, both individually and together with others. Planning, prioritizing, and taking responsibility for your own time and development are also part of the job.

Who Are We Looking For?

You have a teaching license with eligibility to teach as a special needs teacher regarding special support in grades 4–9 in primary school. We also prefer that you have a teaching license with eligibility to teach Swedish, mathematics, English, or Natural Sciences in grades 4–9. The position requires at least three years of well-regarded work experience in teaching within the school system, with experience in teaching grades 4–9.

You can translate the organization's mission into practice regarding students in need of special support. The role requires the ability to adapt working methods and approaches to the conditions of different groups and individuals. You are familiar with and adhere to the ethical principles for teachers.

You are well-versed in current pedagogical and didactic research and can apply your advanced knowledge of language or mathematical development in daily practice. We expect you to have good knowledge of and the ability to work according to current regulatory documents.

You exercise situational learning and leadership based on understanding students' situations and values, meeting them where they are. You build relationships characterized by respect and trust, and can engage, inspire, stimulate, and strengthen students towards learning and personal responsibility.

Good knowledge of alternative learning tools is required, as well as the ability to handle digital compensatory tools and integrate them into teaching. You have the ability to use digital technology as a tool in your daily work. You are skilled at planning and prioritizing your working hours in both the short and long term, and systematically reflecting on and evaluating practical work. The ability to document in a structured manner with high quality is also a requirement.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. If no eligible licensed teachers are available, you may be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the School Act. When we wish to offer you the position, you are required to show an extract from the police record, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the School Act.
