About the School

Practical Gymnasiet Kristianstad offers vocational education where theory is mixed with practical exercises at the school and out at workplaces. We have approximately 360 students and 45 employees. Here you will find programs within plumbing and property, construction and civil engineering, electricity and energy, vehicles and transport, hairdressing, care and nursing, as well as sales and service.

Your Role

The position is full-time (100%) with a start date to be agreed upon. As a teaching assistant, you are an important, reliable adult figure in the students' daily lives. You work closely with teachers, mentors, and student health services to create conditions for learning, security, and study peace.

The work is varied and includes, among other things:

• supporting students individually and in groups during lesson time
• helping students understand instructions, get started, plan, and complete their work
• providing support in study techniques, structure, digital tools, and school assignments
• contributing to a calm working environment, clarity, and good relationships in the classroom
• supporting during breaks, transitions, meals, and other situations during the school day
• following up on students who need support with attendance, routines, motivation, or getting to class
• participating in study halls, retakes, conversations, and other measures related to students' schooling
• providing feedback to teachers and mentors regarding students' needs, development, and situation
• contributing to preventive work regarding security, values, study peace, and student participation
• helping with practical and administrative tasks that facilitate things for students and teaching staff.

You need to be able to switch between supporting an individual student, contributing to a whole class, and helping where the need is greatest. We communicate primarily in SchoolSoft and work in a Google environment with shared documents, calendars, and plans.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have a genuine interest in working with young people and thrive in a close, relationship-building, and varied role. You are secure, responsive, and clear. You build trust while helping students take responsibility, follow agreements, and develop functioning routines.

Education as a teaching assistant is meritorious. Experience from school, youth activities, social work, support measures, or other work with young people is also meritorious. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and collaborate well with students, teachers, mentors, and other staff.

You meet students based on their different needs and prerequisites and share our core values: ambition, strength, and passion. Our students long to enter the working world – you contribute to ensuring they receive the right support, motivation, and conditions on the way there.
