About the workplace

Nyvång School is Åstorp's smallest primary school, located in a classic mining environment. Students here attend from preschool class up to grade 6. Today, there are approximately 180 students at the school. An extension and renovation of existing facilities are underway, and the new school is expected to be fully completed before the autumn term of 2026. The school has an after-school center (fritidshem), an open activity, and a youth club that is open two evenings a week, as well as a special education group.

The advantages of a small school mean that all children are seen, providing good conditions for security and study environment. The school has a documented high level of well-being among both staff and students. The school has a holistic view of the school day, and the after-school activities work with the same goals as the school. For us, it is important that all students are everyone's students, regardless of the time of day. We are proud of our "Nyvång spirit," which means we work together and support each other, regardless of which activity you belong to. At Nyvång School, there is a strong focus on reading in all its forms and a conscious effort to use paper and pencil in learning situations. This includes training students' endurance in teaching situations to consolidate basic skills. The educators also work extensively with a value-creating approach and developing students' decision-making competence.

Job Responsibilities

You will serve in grades 1–3 with shared mentorship in grade 2.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher, have experience in the teaching profession, and have broad qualifications for the middle school level (grades 4–6). Great importance will be placed on personal qualities that match the work team. The F-3 (preschool class to grade 3) work team is characterized by cooperative learning, a value-creating approach, and thematic work. It is important that you work relationally, are positive and flexible, and think outside the box.
