What will you work with?

As the Chief Internal Auditor at the Public Health Agency, you will review and develop operations and ultimately contribute to the agency's broad mission to promote public health and protect Sweden against health threats.

The internal audit function is new at the agency and will consist of the Chief Internal Auditor. Since the function is new, the work involves building and developing from scratch. The function will report directly to the Director General.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Building and continuously developing the internal audit in accordance with government regulations and good auditing practice for internal audits.
  • Continuously analyzing risks in the operations as a basis for developing proposals for the audit plan.
  • Planning and conducting audits, including proposals for improvements, and reporting both in writing and verbally to the Director General and the audited operations.
  • Following up on the actions taken by the operations based on previous recommendations.
  • Providing advice and support to the Director General and other employees at the agency.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements for the position:

  • Academic degree in, for example, economics, law, political science, or other relevant education that the employer assesses as equivalent for the assignment.
  • Experience in external and/or internal auditing.
  • Experience in qualified work at a government agency with tasks relevant to the assignment.
  • Good knowledge of and experience in government administration.

  • Experience working as a Chief Internal Auditor at a government agency.
  • Experience in audit work that contributes to operational development.
  • Experience with the government regulations for internal auditing and internal governance and control.

Emphasis is placed on:

  • Certification as an internal auditor.

About the employment

You will be employed as a unit manager based at our office in Solna or Östersund. The position is a permanent full-time employment that begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date will be as soon as possible by agreement.

As an employee at the Public Health Agency, you may be subject to military placement. Certain positions are classified where Swedish citizenship may be a requirement. Security clearance will then be conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585).

At the agency, there may be an opportunity to enter into an agreement for remote work up to 40 percent of your working time.
