Shared Services works across the municipality with administration, IT, personnel, organization, and finance. The mission of Shared Services is to be a customer-oriented service center for elected officials and the municipality's operations. The sector shall ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, work for uniform routines within the municipality, and be responsible for development within each area of expertise.

Vårgårda's finance unit is now looking for a controller! The finance unit consists of six employees and a finance manager. As of January 1, 2025, we became a new finance unit, and now we are looking for you who want to help build our new team. Vårgårda is a small municipality, and as a controller, you will have the opportunity to work broadly and be involved in many different processes. The organization suits you who want to make a real difference.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a controller, you will work to be the right hand of the operations regarding budget and forecasts. You will, among other things:

• Provide support and advice on financial matters to department heads/unit managers.
• Work to ensure that the operations understand the meaning of financial management.
• Lead the departments' budget processes.
• Support users both in financial and system usage.
• Analyze and explain financial outcomes.
• Participate in the year-end and budget processes.
• Develop support and processes around Vårgårda's future investment plans.

The area of operations is Community Development. It includes activities such as property, building and environment, water and sewage, waste management, food services, cleaning, and maintenance. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in growing with us; therefore, we believe you could be at the beginning of your career or have many years of experience - we want you to take the place in our team that suits you.

Furthermore, we see that your drive and commitment will move our processes forward, and that you can explain complex economic contexts in a simple way. In your role, you will meet many different individuals as you will participate in various forums, such as management groups; thus, we believe you have good communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant academic education, preferably with a focus on public finance.
• Experience in controller work or accounting is an advantage.
• You should be analytical, creative, and able to take initiative.
• You work well with others but can also work independently.
• We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
