About the Workplace
Aroseniusskolan is a grades 7-9 school in Ale municipality, located in scenic surroundings within walking distance from the commuter train station in the center of Älvängen.
The train takes only 23 minutes from Gothenburg and 17 minutes from Trollhättan. If you drive, you can easily reach us via the motorway from both Gothenburg and Trollhättan and park for free at the school.
Aroseniusskolan accommodates both adapted primary school grades 7-9 and regular primary school grades 7-9, and currently has approximately 530 students and 65 employees in the building. The staff is divided into well-functioning teams where the student perspective and collegial collaboration are at the center.
The work is led by two principals (one principal for each school form) and assistant principals. The principals work closely with team leaders and have a school administrator and an operations coordinator in their team. As a school administrator for grades 7-9, you will closely collaborate with the administrator for the adapted primary school grades F-6 and the operations coordinator.
The school has two strong student health teams consisting of special educators, special teachers, a counselor, a psychologist, a career counselor, and a school nurse.
Job Responsibilities
As a school administrator, you will be one of the faces of the school area through phone calls, emails, and visits. You will function as the spider in the web of the unit and have many contacts with staff, guardians, students, support functions, and various visitors.
As a school administrator, you will work with personnel and student administration, recruitment processes, substitute staffing, and staffing planning. You will also be responsible for invoice management. Additionally, you will be responsible for the area's document management in accordance with applicable legislation and grade management.
You will work with the systems used by Ale municipality, such as IST, Skola 24, Evolution, Unit4ERP, Unikum, Varbi, and Pythagoras.
Qualifications
Applicants should have completed secondary education, preferably with experience working in schools, either administratively or pedagogically. You should have prior experience in administration/economics and a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. Experience and knowledge of school administration, including scheduling and support/staff training, are advantageous. You should be a proficient computer user with good knowledge of the Office suite and have the ability to familiarize yourself with various systems, as a large part of the daily work is conducted in different software programs. You should be meticulous, structured, and have the ability to see the big picture. Flexibility and initiative are two important qualities in your role. It is essential that you are good at meeting people and have a professional demeanor. The position requires you to work independently but also collaborate with others. You have good organizational skills and can plan your work based on the tasks throughout the year, including ongoing work and deadlines for tasks such as grade registrations and statistics.
