The Social Administration Sydväst is one of four social administrations in the City of Gothenburg with around 900 employees. In the Sydväst urban area, approximately 120,000 residents live, and the area extends from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago. The administration's mission is to ensure that children, young people, and adults can lead a safe and independent life and that children and young people have a rich leisure time. The administration also works to support homeless individuals towards permanent housing. Through collaboration with civil society, local businesses, and other actors, we aim to enhance public health and safety in the area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker in the Young Adults workgroup, you will be part of one of the three Adult Units within the Social Administration Sydväst. Within Young Adults, eight social workers are employed, and we are looking for someone with an interest and competence in working with young adults who need support in several areas of life. The workgroup is led by two senior social workers and a unit manager.

In your work, you will handle both other assistance and financial support. The target group consists of individuals aged 18-24 with challenges and needs across multiple life areas. Since you will handle both other assistance and financial support, you will work with the whole individual's needs, which we see as a success factor.

The target group is in a developmental age where much is happening in life, and it is important to meet the client where he/she is and from a holistic perspective. You will assess the need for interventions based on various life problems while also leveraging the person's strengths. In your daily work, you will investigate applications and follow up on interventions based on the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Special Provisions concerning the Care of Young People (LVU), and in some cases, the Act on the Care of Addicts (LVM). When needs arise, you will also investigate applications for financial assistance. You will do this in close collaboration with your clients. To benefit from each other's experiences and to receive support in your daily work, you will be offered methodological guidance from senior social workers and external process guidance.

The key to success in our work is that we care about and can be engaged in each individual case, have good collaboration within our social office and with other actors, e.g., relatives, addiction care, support for disabilities, psychiatry, volunteer organizations, and value time in each case. We strive to maintain a low case load in the positions to be able to work intensively with each person to support them towards an independent life. The workgroup contributes with drive, engagement, great competence, and interest in their mission.

All authority exercises for adults are located in the same building, which benefits internal collaboration within the department. QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and work experience in authority exercise within social services, preferably in several areas.

You take responsibility for your and the group's tasks. You share your experiences with your colleagues and are also good at listening to others' opinions. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible.

You do your best to complete all tasks correctly and follow up on how it turned out. You understand how legislation sets the framework for our mission and are good at navigating what is your respective and another actor's task.
