JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a support pedagogue for a housing with special services for young adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues. Västra Tuvevägen 2 is located in Norra Hisingen with proximity to good public transport connections. The housing has 10 tenants.

As a support pedagogue, you have a key role with overall responsibility for the quality work, methods, and working methods of the operations. You support and guide your colleagues in the daily work around the users and their individual needs. In your role, you participate in network meetings with other educators, key persons, and unit managers from our operations and contribute to strengthening the collaboration between the units within disability support. You also collaborate with relatives, guardians, and daily activities to ensure the user receives good care, support, and service. Another of your focus areas will be to follow up and develop the social documentation in the operations. You support your colleagues in writing implementation plans based on IBIC. Leisure interests are an important part of life, and this is something we wish for our upcoming users. Part of your role will therefore be to inspire trying new things and daring to explore. As support in your work, you will receive supervision from our method developer, and in many matters, you will work in consultation with the unit manager.

In addition to your work as a support pedagogue, you will also have regular tasks as a support assistant.

The working hours are primarily scheduled during the day, but evenings and weekends may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability field is required, covering at least 200 vocational training points, 120 higher education points, or 60 higher education points with two years of work experience with people with disabilities. The education should have relevant points in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have previously worked at least 2 years as a support pedagogue.

If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses and mental health issues. We also see it as an advantage if you have experience working with LAB (low-arousal approach), ESL (an independent life), and IBIC (individual needs in focus).
