JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for people living in housing with special services? We are looking for someone who wants to work as a support assistant in a residence for people with intellectual disabilities. Järnbrottspark is a housing with special services in the Southwest. At Järnbrottspark, six women live in their own apartments, and there is a common area nearby. The residence is focused on individuals with neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities, but there are also individuals with acquired brain injuries living here. At Järnbrottspark, we work with the premise that each tenant should be involved and given the opportunity to develop towards as independent a life as possible. Your mission as a support assistant is to provide tenants with individually tailored support in their daily lives. You work in a motivating and coaching manner and create conditions for structure and participation based on each person's abilities. Together, we create long-term conditions for an independent and good life for our tenants. We offer a developing and stimulating job where you, together with the unit manager, workgroup, and support pedagogue, will participate in the continued development of the operations. The working hours for this position are scheduled for nights and primarily consist of solitary work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also fulfilled if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Requirements include prior experience as a support assistant and experience with the target group of intellectual and neuropsychiatric variations such as autism, ADHD/ADD.

It is advantageous if you have training in ESL (an independent life), MI (motivational interviewing), and/or AAC (alternative communication). We also appreciate if you have worked with individuals with mental health issues.
