Description

Are you our new economist/administration controller? We are now looking for you who are driven by working with the entire economic process, from start to finish, and are interested in following up on our goals and assignments! We offer an interesting job in one of the city's smaller administrations. The work is independent as you are the administration's only economist, and in your role, you have a holistic view of the administration's economy and operations. This could be the next step for you who want to take greater responsibility and be involved in the entire process and decision-making.

Since we are a small administration, you are involved in a variety of issues, large and small. Your work spans from preparing and presenting proposals for the Archives Board's annual budget to handling invoices and coordinating our follow-up reports. Your main tasks include, among other things:

  • Responsible for budget and forecasting work as well as follow-up of economic goals
  • Prepare monthly, interim, and annual accounts and ongoing reporting
  • Handling of customer and supplier invoices
  • Contact person during audits
  • Coordinate the administration's purchases
  • Drive and coordinate the administration's work with follow-up of goals and assignments as well as risks and internal control plans

As an economist at the Regional Archives, you are part of the administration's management group which meets every other week. You are also part of other networks within the City of Gothenburg and collaborate closely with the HR function.

We consider it important that we meet and build relationships at the workplace, so we want you to be on-site most of the time, but of course, there is an opportunity to work from home a few days a week to achieve a balance between work and private life.

Qualifications

You who apply have at least three years of university education in the economic field as well as several years of experience in broad economic work. To succeed in the job, you should have experience in independently preparing budgets, performing reconciliations, analyses, and accounting, preferably from public sector operations. It is an advantage if you have experience with the City of Gothenburg's economic systems such as Nekksus/Hypergene, Stratsys, Agresso, and Proceedo.

As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, and excellent at collaborating with your colleagues in an unpretentious way by listening, showing interest, and respect. You have a mindset where you see opportunities instead of difficulties and enjoy the variety between operational and strategic tasks and between simple and more advanced assignments.

About Us

The Regional Archives is Sweden's largest municipal/regional archive. Here there are over 12 million paper documents and large amounts of digital information. The public, researchers, companies, and authorities seek information from us regarding schools, social services, healthcare, politics, urban planning, local traffic, culture, club life in Gothenburg, and much more.

In order to be able to search for and release the requested material, we need to ensure that the right information is preserved in the right way. We do this by making decisions, conducting supervision, and providing education, advice, and support to the authorities. The regulatory framework we base our work on makes it possible to develop modern information management in collaboration with the operations. It should be as easy as possible for the authorities to do the right thing. The Regional Archives also develops and adapts a digital final archive to meet future information needs.

The Regional Archives is an administration in the City of Gothenburg and is governed by the Archives Board, a joint archival authority for the Region of Västra Götaland and the City of Gothenburg. The administration has approximately 50 employees in Gothenburg and Vänersborg who in different ways contribute to ensuring that the right information is preserved and available today and in the future.
