We are now looking for a school counselor for Rävlandaskolan, a preschool to grade 9 school with approximately 320 students and 50 dedicated employees. The school is located in a natural setting in Rävlanda with good commuting opportunities from Gothenburg and Borås.

Your assignment

We know that a good school counselor makes a difference – for real. In the meeting with students and guardians, in collaboration with colleagues, and in the work for a safe school where everyone gets to succeed.

We are now looking for you who want to be part of this work with us at Rävlandaskolan. As a school counselor, you work promotive, preventive, and remedial at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You conduct supportive conversations with students, both individually and in groups, and work actively with social processes in classes, for example, within values education, conflict management, and group development. You are responsible for investigations regarding absenteeism, school social situations, harassment, and participate in investigations of special support.

You are an important support for educators in the work with students' social development and contribute with supervision and consultation in matters concerning approach and inclusive learning environments. You also have conversations with guardians as needed and offer support and guidance in matters concerning the student's situation. As part of the student health team, you add psychosocial competence to the cross-professional work and participate in mapping and analyzing students' needs.

The work also involves collaboration with external actors such as social services, UPH (Student Health Services), and BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry). You document independently according to current guidelines. You conduct investigations and drive the school's systematic student health work together with the rest of the student health team.

You are part of the municipality's network for counselors and have regular professional meetings and supervision sessions.

Requirements for the position

We are looking for you who:

• have a degree in social work (socionom)
• have good knowledge of the student health service's mission
• have experience in counseling and psychosocial work with children and young people
• have good knowledge of how neuropsychiatric disabilities affect the individual's social, emotional, and pedagogical situation.
• have the ability to work both independently and in a team

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience as a school counselor
• experience in student health work
• experience in collaboration with social services, UPH, BUP, etc.
• knowledge of documentation systems such as Prorenata, Teams, and Unikum
• knowledge of the school's compensatory mission

To obtain employment, an extract from the Police Register must be presented. An extract from the suspicion register may also become relevant depending on the position.
