We are looking for a Mentor

As a mentor at Realgymnasiet in Gothenburg, you will work with the development of a student group. You are part of our student health team and collaborate closely with teachers and student health competencies to ensure our students have the best conditions for learning. You will primarily work with the students' personal and academic development. On our vocational programs, their employability after education becomes an important part of the assignment, and for students on university-preparatory programs, their desire and opportunity for further studies.

You will work on coaching our students, with motivating efforts, goal images, and future planning. You will support students through help with study planning and study techniques. An important part of the job is to ensure that the students' study plans are updated and correspond with the program's point plan. The position also includes other administrative tasks as you will also take some student counselor (SYV) responsibility in the role.

You collaborate with the school staff and drive the mentorship work, from a broad perspective, based on the current educational offerings at the school. You will participate in student care work, have contact with guardians, plan and participate in mentor time, development talks, parent meetings, and similar. You support the students during the school day and in contact with teachers. Furthermore, you work continuously and progressively, together with our teachers, to communicate goal fulfillment to the student. As a mentor, you have a holistic perspective with the student in focus.

Qualifications

To be considered for the assignment, we see that you have:

• Completed pedagogical/social-pedagogical education
• Previous experience within upper secondary school.
• Other education that the employer considers equivalent

It is meritorious if you have a degree from the Student and Career Guidance program.
