Description

Ward 96 is a forensic psychiatric care ward belonging to NU Hospital's psychiatric clinic. We are located at the Brinkåsen forensic psychiatric facility in Vänersborg. On the ward, nurses, specialist nurses, care assistants, and social pedagogues work. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team as one of our social pedagogues moves on to new challenges.

The position involves scheduled shifts during days, evenings, and weekends. Weekend shifts are scheduled every other weekend. We work in care teams where you will be part of a team with a nurse and a care assistant.

Job Responsibilities

A social pedagogue's duties involve creating a good relationship and alliance with the patients. In collaboration with other healthcare staff, there is continuous assessment and evaluation of the patients' symptom picture, current medication, and care needs. Within psychiatry, all healthcare staff work based on a case management approach, where one has a special responsibility for certain patients within their care team. At the same time, the role includes providing support and care to all patients on the ward, regardless of case responsibility. Risk assessments and risk management are an important part of the crime prevention work.

The purpose of risk assessments is to evaluate the risk of relapse into different types of criminality. Examples of risk assessments are HCR-20 version 3, SAM, and SVR-20, which serve as the basis for assessing the risk of relapse regarding violent, stalking, and sexual crimes.

Social pedagogues within forensic psychiatry are responsible for the planning, execution, and documentation of structured risk assessments and are part of the risk assessment group, whose main purpose is to identify and assess risks related to patients concerning violent crimes.

As a social pedagogue, you may teach, supervise, and provide consultative support in matters concerning risk management to other professional groups. The role also includes supervising students as we receive students from University West.

Qualifications

You have a psychiatric social work education.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, empathetic, and has leadership abilities. You have excellent collaboration skills, enjoy working in teams, and contribute to a positive work climate.

Experience working with patients with psychotic disorders is meritorious, as this is the ward's focus. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
