About the job

We are looking for personal assistants for assignments with users of varying ages (6–62 years).

Working as a personal assistant involves supporting and accompanying the user in their daily life. You provide support in personal care, activities, household chores, and daily living in general. The role also includes performing delegated healthcare tasks, supporting rehabilitation efforts, and using assistive devices prescribed by rehabilitation services. You will also work with cognitive and pedagogical support, using yourself as a tool to work with low-affective responses and interaction strategies when engaging with the user. Care and support are provided based on the individual's needs, integrity, and self-determination. You have a statutory and professional responsibility for defined tasks according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and HSL (Health and Medical Services Act). Documentation in the activity system and medication management are part of the assignment. We use several digital tools.

An important part of the assignment is to base your actions on the user's wishes and self-determination, providing support without taking over more than necessary, as the goal of personal assistance is to enable as independent and meaningful a life as possible.

The work must also be adapted to the user's age and individual needs, as a child and an adult, for example, have different prerequisites and daily contents. Since the work takes place in the user's home, a professional attitude is required where the assistant shows respect for the home as a private place, follows routines, and is discreet. Finally, it involves collaborating with others and following implementation plans and instructions to ensure safety, quality, and continuity in the services.

The position may involve working alone and requires responsibility, flexibility, and a good ability to work independently as well as in a team with double assistance. We work with joint planning, and therefore, introductions and work shifts at other users' homes may also occur.

Working as a personal assistant is a fun and varied job where you are a social support and together with the user perform and participate in various activities both inside and outside the home based on their wishes and needs.

Working hours vary, and the work includes day/evening shifts, 24-hour shifts with sleeping on-call duty, and every other weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who are trained as assistant nurses, student assistants, support assistants, or hold other education that the employer considers equivalent, as the work involves extensive medical responsibility. Communication regarding medication, working based on implementation plans and routines, and documentation are some of the daily tasks; therefore, you must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing in Swedish.

We are looking for you who are reliable, structured, and have good knowledge within care. As a personal assistant, you need to have patience and be able to meet the user in their needs and daily life.

Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Since there are pets in the home, you must be comfortable around animals.

A B-driver's license is a requirement, so that you can go on outings with the user. For the position, you are also required to have Bank-ID.
