Area Coordinator for the City of Mölndal
In the City of Mölndal, we are proud to have Sweden's most important job, where we together create the best possible everyday life for our citizens. With knowledge, courage, and creativity, we develop our operations and contribute to making Mölndal an even better place to live and work in. Welcome to make a difference in people's everyday lives – every day!
In Mölndal, area-based community work has been conducted for 29 years to strengthen safety, well-being, and democracy. Today, the work is located in four geographical areas in the municipality: Balltorp, Bifrost, Lindome, and Åby. The home of the area work is the Culture and Leisure Administration, the unit for public health and area work. The unit consists of twelve coordinators working in different areas, such as area work, public health, children's rights, and integration.
You will be part of a team with four other colleagues, where you together drive and develop the area-based community work.
Area work is an arena and infrastructure for preventive and promotional work, shaped based on local conditions, needs, and the people in each respective area. The work is carried out together with residents and local actors – to build strong, safe, and inclusive communities. The target group for the interventions is all residents and active individuals of all ages in a geographically defined area.
The city is currently implementing the new Social Services Act and development work related to primary social services. Area work is an important part of this transition, and the assignment will therefore have an increased focus on strategic development work in close collaboration with other relevant administrations.

Job Responsibilities
The assignment as an Area Coordinator is varied and requires the ability to be flexible and solution-oriented.
You work both operationally and strategically. Through analysis, process facilitation, and coordination, you influence how the preventive work is shaped and developed, both in the local area and on an overarching level in the city.
You coordinate a local collaboration group with actors for the local community, lead and mentor about ten teenagers of high school age, and drive, coordinate, and develop local meeting places. The role means that you, based on local situational assessments and needs, contribute to developing working methods in close collaboration with the social services and other administrations.
The role requires a high degree of independence, teamwork skills, and strong analytical capacity. You plan, drive, and follow up on your work both individually and in groups.
Qualifications
You must have a university degree in a relevant field, for example, a social work degree. You must also have experience working with promotion and prevention within social work, as well as experience leading processes in complex contexts. It is an advantage if you have experience with area-based community work and rights-based work.
Personal Attributes
As a person, you have the ability to overview your own area of responsibility and put your own operations into a larger context. You show interest in and engage with overarching issues to create added value. You take into account different information sources and perspectives and can adapt others' ideas to your own operations.
You are flexible and easily adapt both yourself and your working methods based on changed conditions and new information. You can quickly change your viewpoint and approach, as well as see opportunities in changes.
You are outgoing and social in professional contexts. You create good relationships and build networks with people who are important for your professional role, both at different levels, internally and externally. Because you thrive in meeting others, you have the ability to identify opportunities for relevant collaborations.
You have leadership qualities and, by distributing work and delegating tasks, ensure that others' competencies are utilized. You meet people where they are and motivate, give advice, support, and opportunities for development.
Employment type: Permanent position.
