About Us

Essensa Foster Care is a specialist operation providing consultant-supported foster care, focusing on children and young people with complex issues, often in combination with trauma, mental health challenges, and neuropsychiatric difficulties.

We work in a team-based manner within the child's home environment/foster care setting, characterized by clear structure, continuous follow-up, and high professionalism.

About the Role

As a Foster Care Consultant at Essensa, you play a central role in the work surrounding the child and the foster family. You are responsible for supervision, education, recruitment, and follow-up of foster families in their assignments, while collaborating closely with social services and our internal team.

The work is independent but never solitary; you are part of a cross-professional team consisting of a director, specialist social worker, placement advisor, family therapist, DBT therapist, special educator, and skills trainer.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of foster families
• Regular contact and collaboration with social services
• Follow-up of care and implementation plans
• Documentation and reporting
• Participation in matching, follow-up meetings, and treatment conferences
• Recruitment and assessment of foster families
• Contribute to the development of the organization's quality and working methods

Who We Are Looking For

• Social worker or other relevant higher education degree
• Supervisory training focused on foster care
• Experience from foster care
• Courageous, self-leadership, and relationship-building skills
• Independent, goal-oriented, and solution-focused work style
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
• Valid B-driver's license and access to a car

The operation is part of Essensa Treatment and works on behalf of social services for children and young people who need structured, secure, and individualized interventions. Interventions are coordinated based on the child's needs and may include special educational support, treatment, skills training, as well as support and supervision for foster families. Through close collaboration between different professions, cohesive and sustainable placements are created.

Workplace: Hybrid (from home and at foster families' homes)

Requirements:

• You primarily work from home and plan your work independently.
• You must be able to conduct home visits at your foster families' homes at least three out of five working days per week.
• Travel is included in the position, and you must be able to conduct business trips with a one-way travel time of up to approximately two hours.
• A B-driver's license and access to a personal car are required.
